Our company name is Somatic Movement Project and the owner of this site is Tara Eden.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect your name and email address if you subscribe to Tara’s email list. We also collect your transactional data and purchase information if you order any of the Somatic Movement Project’s audio and/or video recordings from the online shop. Technical data, such as information about cookies is collected as well.

We collect your name and email address only when you give active consent. This lets us know that you’ve requested to receive updates on all Somatic Movement Project-related news. This news includes helpful content (such as free classes on video and/or audio recordings, invitations to upcoming classes, workshops, immersions, retreats, articles, publications on Feldenkrais, somatic movement and embodiment and retention or the active consent the user has given.

Personal data is not just created by your interactions with our site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.

By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. However some of our plugins may collect personal data, like WooCommerce if you purchase a class recording.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

By default, WordPress does not include a contact form. We keep your name and email address when you submit a general contact form, and it is kept indefinitely unless you unsubscribe. For those of you that submit your contact information when purchasing a class recording from the Shop, we keep that info indefinitely for customer service purposes, but not for marketing purposes.
